The mission of NUDM is to unite Northwestern University's campus, the Evanston community, and the greater Chicagoland area in philanthropic fundraising and education.
Dance Marathon began in 1975 as the philanthropic child of Alpha Tau Omega and the Associated Student Government. 21 couples danced in the 52 hour marathon in 1975, raising more than $9,000. While the number of dancing hours has decreased, DM has grown to include more than 1,400 student volunteers that together have raised more than $10 million dollars for various charities.
