Northwestern University Dance Marathon is the culmination of a year of fundraising, volunteering and educating by more than 1,000 students, faculty, staff, and administrators in a thirty hour dance-a-thon. Since its inaugural year in 1975, DM has raised over $10 million for various charities, and we are excited to be benefiting StandUp for Kids and the Evanston Community Foundation for Dance Marathon 2010!

Blurb: The whole "it is funny that I don't have a license thing" is no longer funny...in the slightest. Description: 16th birthday, no license. 17th birthday, no license and my friends have already received theirs. 18th birthday, get my permit solely to be able to fly to Chicago without my passport. 19th birthday, have been able to vote for an entire year yet still cannot drive. 20th birthday, I have been alive for two decades and cannot drive. 21st birthday, I am a legal drinker, but not driver. We're approaching 22 and the jig is up. It is time to "StandUp" and face my fear. Why do you want to peform this challenge: My sister could not handle it and we all know my mother could not handle it so it is up to me to break the horrible trend of the "vehicularly" challenged Horbar women. Not to mention it would be nice to show a license to bouncers instead of a permit or how about be able to take myself grocery shopping. You're all laughing, but I'm crying inside. But now, it is going to happen!!
